the Tubesteaks ***New Interview***

Ever wonder why your Itunes bill is so high? Your kids aren't downloading the latest and greatest, too easy to get that for free. They are downloading stuff like the  Tubesteaks. Not sure I am ever going to get a chance to see this live, but I am sure it is going to be worth every penny. Lee is a guy with internet access an acoustic guitar and great sense of humor. I got him to tell the story of the Tubesteaks...

Introduce yourself…
I'm Lee Cretin the single member of the band.

How did the band start?
The band started because i coudlnt find any assholes that wanted to play punk rock.. So I said fuck it and picked up the ole acoustic.

How did you come up with the name?
Got the name from the movie Full Metal Jacket.

Who would you say are your influences?
My infuleneces would for sure first and formost be the  Ramones, after that I'd say the Misfits, Black Flag, GG  Allin, some old school country like Johnny Cash and Hank Sr. also there's a band outta Evansville Indiana called the Dead Livers... I fuckin love them... everyone that reads this should for sure check them out.

What is your local punk scene like?
There is no local punk scene where im at, its a lot of skinny pants wearing emo dickhead around here hence the reason i'm the only member of my band.

What is the song writing process?
The song writing process is fuckin simple man....come up with 3 or 4 chords and then write some really stupid shit to sing to them.... it's punk rock Ramones style.

You have released a 6 song ep called 'Wolfmangina', tell us about the EP...
Wolfmangina is a solid record if your into acoustic punk... It's just me playing and singing about dumb shit I find funny.

Who are some of the bands you have done shows with?
As far as shows go we technically formed in 2008 when I  came up with the name and idea but I've only been recording since late last year so I really haven't had time to think about playing out, mostly it's been for friends and a few odd fuckers.

Do you prefer to do shows at large venues or small clubs?
When I do get a full set list I would like to do small clubs that give me free beer.

Where have you toured?
The Tubesteaks are touring Virgins but I would love to go to Italy.

Is there a favorite band you like to do shows with?
I would love to do a show somewhere down the line with the Dead Livers outta Evansville, Indiana.

Is there a favorite place you like to do shows at?
Small clubs and basment shows would be the best venues for us or just a fuckin living room it don't matter.

Do you see a future of the Tubesteaks?
I don't know if theres a future for the Tubesteaks, I  don't think I'll be raking in the dough anytime soon from it, but I'll be writing tubestaks material till I'm dead.

How can people contact the band?
You can contact me thru my email: leecretin1@aol.com or on facebook at www.facebook.com/thetubesteaks
Thanks for the interview man..... Can't wait to read it and all you fuckers reading this shit check out THe Dead LIvers!
