The Beldings ***New Interview***

Fresh from Indiana, the Beldings are a band that brings us some a new generation of Horror punk. 50s horror movies with a twist of the Misfits and the Ramones. I got Ray to tell their story...

Introduce yourself…
I'm Ray Griffin I play guitar and do the screaming for The Beldings.

How did the band start?
Just from loving punk rock and being bored.

How did you come up with the name?
From Saved by the Bell... I know it's a weird name for a horror punk band... But, hey we like it.

Who would you say are your influences?
Ramones, Misfits, and horror movies.

What was the punk scene like in Indiana?
There isn't one where I live.

Describe the song writing process...
I sit done with a guitar and an idea for a song and just start putting it together... Our songs are super short so its not a long process.

What have you released?
We've released  2 eps......"The Beldings" and "Curse of the Vampire".

Who are some of the bands you have done shows with?
We haven't played out yet because we only have like a 15 minute set........i need to write about 12 more songs for a half hour set and then we'll start playing out.

Do you prefer to do shows at large venues or small clubs?
Small

No

Is there a favorite place you like to do shows at?
If we played shows it be basement shows and house parties with free booze.

Hopefully to keep writing tunes and then start playing out.
