The Graveyard Drifters ***New Interview***

Psychobilly has been a driving force in the punk scene for years. Punk and Psychobilly bands have an unseen relationship that requires no real explaination. Bands and fans mix like alcohol and fruit drinks, with a good aftertaste. Over the years, I have heard and met some great bands and the Graveyard Drifters are an awesome band with a style all their own. The band has played more shows then most people can count and have no real released material, does it matter? This guys are too great not to see the show in person. I got the band to tell their story...

Introduce yourself…
We are the Graveyard Drifters from Hemet, Ca. Members consists of:
Moises (Monstro) Mondragon - Upright bass and backing Vox
Joel(Galactic Gumby)Drums and lead Vox

How did the band start?
It started in the summer of 2004 where the original line up of Alex(Animal), Brown Cordero(Skelington), Escallera Joel(Jailbird), Mondragon Moises(Monstro) Mondragon, Jack(J-bone) Gibson. We are in the band where we all had no musical experience what so ever and practiced and practiced as much as we could. And many line up changes threw the years we became a 3 piece combo of greatness that you can listen to now!

How did you come up with the name?
Moises came up with the name by putting names together. Original name was Psychobilly Weregoats).

There so many cant list them all from Mad Sin, The Meteors, Torment, Godless wicked Creeps, the Sharks, Frenzy, Nekromantix, down to oldies music 50s music 60s music early 50s rock and roll anything we think we can remake psychobilly style!

What was the punk scene like in California?
Well considering that we are not a punk band we are a psychobilly band it has gone to having a huge fallowing till where there wasn't any shows for a while, so it comes and goes. Just like any scene out there.

Describe the song writing process...
The way we make song is we all have one one idea and combined them all as one. For example our song 'Tiki Time'. Mloises wanted something with gargoyles and Joel want something bout partying on the beach. Matt wanted something bout tikis. So we made a song bout partying tikis who only come to life when it is night time.

What have you released?
we have only had 5 demos made threw the years where have have lost alot of songs that we never recorded due to all the line up changes.
