Hi. My name's Dano, I'm the vocalist/singer lol of the Supplement
How did the band start?
We started in March of last year. I had just left Neveready an OC hardcore punk band that Gabby from Manic Hispanic and the Caddillac Tramps had said I should join. We spent 9 years playing and releasing some great stuff. Brian, Greg Yocum, and Paul Ensley were in The Bombshells and had kicked the singer out due to the usual punk rock conflicts. I answered the craigslist ad, but they turned me down at first. But I felt it we were a match.
How did you come up with the name?
I think we wanted something simple but not lame, The Supplement has many meanings... Everyones on them in the states
Who would you say are your influences?
Definitly The Sonics, The Replacements, Stiff little Fingers, Rocket From The Crypt, The Damned, The Avengers
What is the punk scene like in the South Bay?
Bands here are well known, The Smut Peddlers, TSOL, etc. we have a huge OG scene that never dies and only grows. From old and new school oi! and hardcore.
Describe the song writing process...
Well Brian and I write the lyrics, there blue collar and just plain.issues we all deal with if you listen to evolution, or the machine there politically charged but deals with the reality of a broken system, The things we do deals with life, Heroes having no gods or masters, sinners and sons deals,with conflict. We write the song and then the lyrics..
What have you released?
The Euro versions on No Front Teeth and comes out this month
We just released are debut in the States it's, a fun and I think a great record. It's 13 songs and we are working on the follow up. The cd is selling well and we are getting a good response.
Who are some of the bands you have done shows with?
Well The Dwarves, TSOL, The Generators, The Adolecsents, Chro Mags, Ill Repute, Social Task, Bonecrusher, ,The uncivil,
Do you prefer to do shows at large venues or small venues?
We like to play for people wether its 5 or 5000, @Punk Rock Picnic the Outdoor shows are big & but playing The Juke Joint, or The Casbah in San Diego, or Mootsys in Spokane,all fun..
Have you toured?
Yes we have and enjoy it we want to hit the road again soon.
Is there a favorite band you like to do shows with?
We played quite a bit with the Dwarves this last year, but we find we bring a good element to any gig and like to play with newer bands.
Is there a favorite place you like to do shows?
Yes I know for me it's Orane County, or Portland.
What do you see is the future of The Supplement?
Were gonna keep releasing music we are doing something we enjoy its,real its different we believe, so expect.more.
